Historically, Numerous roads are flooded and closed at this level. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:30 PM PST Thursday the stage was 30.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 45.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Friday evening and crest around 56.1 feet early Saturday morning. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People, structures, and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons, and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An atmospheric river is forecast to bring periods of heavy rain to northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington today. This system occurs at a time when area rivers continue to run high and soils remain saturated following heavy rain earlier in the month. During initial heavy rainfall today, the urban and small stream flooding threat will be most urgent, although the details of precise timing and location of the highest risk remains uncertain at this time. As runoff works its way downstream, the river flooding threat will increase tonight into Friday, with numerous area rivers now forecast to reach at least Minor flood stage. * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Oregon, including the following counties, Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Polk and Yamhill. * WHEN...Until 1015 PM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River and stream flows are elevated and rising. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 416 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated moderate to heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in widespread minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
