White River near Whitehall affecting Muskegon County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. This is not related to, or an indication of, any developments associated with the possible overtopping of the Hesperia Dam which is upstream. The current flooding is a result of the general high water conditions on the White River. * WHERE...White River near Whitehall. * WHEN...From this afternoon to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 6.0 feet, Expect minor flooding of several cottages, canoe liveries, and farmland along the river. At 7.5 feet, Expect moderate flooding of farmlands and cottages along the river. High water reaches the first flood of some homes and canoe liveries along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:15 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 6.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 4:15 PM EDT Wednesday was 6.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 6.8 feet tomorrow morning.
