Nagqu Meteorological Bureau issues orange lightning warning

On June 7th at 13:00, the Nagqu Meteorological Observatory in Tibet issued an orange lightning warning signal: it is expected that from 14:00 to 20:00 on the 7th, thunderstorms will occur in various counties in the eastern part of our city, as well as in most parts of Seni, most parts of Nierong, southern Ando, and northern Jiali. Please pay attention to prevention. Defense measures: 1. Thunderstorms, strong winds, and short-term heavy rainfall will occur in the central and eastern parts of our city in the future. Please make sure to take relevant defense measures; When thunderstorms occur, avoid standing at heights, under trees, or in open areas, and stay away from metal objects and water bodies; 3. During thunderstorms, loud noises and fast running are prohibited, and the contact area between the body and the ground should be minimized as much as possible; 4. If cordyceps mining activities are being carried out in the lightning activity area, it is recommended to immediately carry out dispatch, go down the mountain in advance or take shelter on site; 5. Lightning activity has uncertainty, randomness, and suddenness. Please take personal protective measures according to weather changes.

The possibility of lightning activity within 2 hours is very high, or it has been affected by lightning activity and may continue, and the possibility of lightning disaster accidents is relatively high.

1. The government and relevant departments implement lightning protection emergency measures in accordance with their duties;

2. Personnel should stay indoors and close doors and windows;

3. Outdoor personnel should hide in buildings or cars with lightning protection facilities;

4. Cut off the dangerous power supply, and do not shelter from rain under trees, electric poles, or tower cranes;

5. Do not use umbrellas in open fields, and do not carry farm tools, badminton rackets, golf clubs, etc. on your shoulders.
