At 515 AM, an area of moderate freezing rain is moving into the North Woods. It will reach the populated areas of Aroostook County and Northern Penobscot County between 6 and 7 AM, making already treacherous travel even worse. The freezing rain should end around 9 AM, and temperatures will eventually rise above freezing between 10 AM and noon. Much improved travel conditions are expected this afternoon with temperatures reaching the mid 30s to lower 40s.
