The monsoon trough lie across the upper North into the low-pressure cell over upper Loas and upper Vietnam while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf with isolated heavy to very heavy rain are likely in the country. The moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are likely about 2 meters high, 1-2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, the tropical depression in the central South China Sea is expected to intensify into a tropical storm and is forecasted to make landfall in northern Vietnam on the afternoon of August 30, 2025. After landfall, the storm will weaken into a depression as it moves into northern Laos. It will continue to weaken into a strong low-pressure system as it follows the monsoon trough, which will move into the northeastern region of Thailand by the night of 30 August 2025. By 31 August 2025, it will reach the northern part of Thailand, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall across many areas from 30 August to 1 September 2025.
