...The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in California... Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Humboldt County. For the Eel River...including Fernbridge, Scotia, Bridgeville, Fort Seward, Miranda...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Eel River at Fernbridge. * WHEN...From this evening to Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Significant flooding of the western portions of Cannibal Island Road, Camp Weott Road, the Salt and Old Rivers, and all adjacent low-lying areas. Flooding in these areas is exaggerated when crest timing is coincident with high tides and strong onshore winds, and for longer duration events. A Special Action Advisory is being issued to all owners of livestock in low-lying areas of the Eel Delta. Owners of livestock should consider taking appropriate action to protect livestock. At 22.0 feet, The western half of the Eel Delta may be completely flooded, especially if at or above this level for an extended period of time. This includes areas northwest of Loleta and Cannibal Island Road. A Special Action Advisory is being issued to all owners of livestock in low-lying areas of the Eel River Delta. Owners of livestock should take appropriate action to protect their animals. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 AM PST Sunday the stage was 8.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 22.6 feet tomorrow morning. At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding of Mad River Beach Road near Tyee City. At 21.0 feet, Flooding of Mad River Beach Road. Water may be flowing over roads to Tyee City. Flooding will be enhanced if the time of the crest is coincident with high tides and strong onshore winds. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 AM PST Sunday the stage was 13.3 feet. - Forecast...Rises on the river are possible over the next few days. West Central Trinity County in northwestern California... * Until 215 PM PST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream flows are elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 807 AM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Overflowing poor drainage areas. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 643 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. * WHAT...South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...Southern Humboldt. * WHEN...Until 10 AM PST this morning. * IMPACTS...Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
