Heavy to very heavy Rain Risk Area

Issue date: 2025-08-24T22:55+00:00

The southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is strengthening while the monsoon trouth lies across the North and the upper Norhtheast. Isolated heavy rain are likely in Thailand with isolated very heavy rain in the upper Northeast and the East regions. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rain and its accumulation. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore. In addition, Typhoon “KAJIKI” over the upper South China Sea is expected to make landfall over Vietnam and upper Laos during 25–26 August 2025, causing more rain with heavy to very heavy rain and strong winds over the North and the upper Northeast of Thailand during 24–27 August 2025.
