An area of heavy snow showers will accompany a cold front crossing the region this morning. Visibilities will drop quickly to a half mile or less with these heavy snow showers along with gusty winds. Roads could rapidly become snow covered and slippery. Localized snow accumulations up to an inch could occur. These snow showers will impact Route 1, Route 11, Route 161, northern portions of I-95 and other roads across northern Maine between 830 and 930 AM. Commuters this morning should be alert for these heavy snow showers, deteriorating visibilities and slippery road conditions.
