At 18:59 on July 18, 2025, Xiamen Meteorological Observatory issued a blue typhoon warning signal: Typhoon Wipha (tropical storm level), the 6th typhoon of this year, was located in the sea about 805 kilometers southeast of Xiamen at 17:00 today. It is expected that "Weipa" will move towards the northwest direction at a speed of about 25 kilometers per hour, and move into the northern sea area of the South China Sea from early morning to early morning on the 19th. Its intensity will gradually increase and it will gradually approach the coastal areas from central Guangdong to eastern Hainan Island. Affected by it, it is expected that the wind force in our city and along the coast will gradually increase from tonight, with the maximum wind force occurring during the day of the 19th. The urban area can reach 5-6 levels with gusts of 7-8 levels, while major bridges and high-altitude mountainous areas can reach 5-7 levels with gusts of 8-9 levels; Xiamen inland sea level 6-7, gusts 8-9; Off the coast of Xiamen, there are levels 7-8 and gusts of 9-10. Description

Within 24 hours may be or has been affected by a tropical cyclone, coastal or land average wind force is 6 or more, or gust can reach 8 or more and may persist.

Guidelines

1. The government and relevant departments shall make preparations for typhoon prevention in accordance with their duties;

2. Stop outdoor group activities and high-altitude outdoor dangerous operations;
