At 12:02 pm on May 2, 2025, the Yumin County Meteorological Observatory issued a blue warning signal for strong winds: it is expected that from tonight to tomorrow day, some towns in Yumin County and some areas of the 161st Regiment of the 9th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps will have a westerly wind of about 7 levels, and the wind speed in the well irrigation area and southern mountainous areas will be 8 to 9 levels, with gusts of 10 levels. It is expected that there will be lightning activity in Yumin County and surrounding mountainous areas from this afternoon to night. There is a high possibility of short-term heavy precipitation, thunderstorms and strong winds of around level 8, and other severe convective weather in some areas. It is necessary to strengthen the prevention of geological disasters such as flash floods and mudslides caused by short-term heavy precipitation in some areas.
