The Daxinganling region has a unique climate, a low temperate continental monsoon climate, and is known as the "alpine forbidden zone". The climate is humid and rainy in summer and winter. The temperature difference is large, the summer days are long and the nights are short. In winter, the nights are long and the days are short, and sometimes there are strange cold. The annual sunshine is 2,600 hours,and the annual effective accumulated temperature is 2,100 degrees Celsius. The annual average temperature is minus 4 degrees Celsius in Mohe County. The annual frost-free period averages 80 to 110 days. The extreme minimum temperature of 52.3 degrees Celsius occurred on February 13, 1969; the extreme maximum temperature of 37.0 degrees Celsius occurred on June 29, 2010. The average annual rainfall is 460 mm, concentrated between July and September in the third season. In summer, it is controlled by the high pressure of the Pacific,which is humid and cool.
