Xuzhou Meteorological Observatory issues a blue typhoon warning [Level IV/General]

At 16:07 on July 26, 2024, the Xuzhou Meteorological Observatory issued a typhoon blue warning signal: affected by the third typhoon of this year, "Gemei", it is expected that most towns (streets) in Gulou, Yunlong, Quanshan, Jingkai, Gangkou, Tongshan, Jiawang, Fengxian, Peixian, Pizhou, Xinyi, Suining and other areas will experience gusts of 7-8 on land and 8-9 on river and lake surfaces from tonight to the 29th. During the period affected by typhoon, there are moderate to heavy rain, local rainstorm, and may be accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall and other convective weather. It is expected that the typhoon s impact will end during the daytime on the 29th. The city s emergency response, water management, and meteorological departments jointly remind to strengthen prevention measures.

Description

Within 24 hours may be or has been affected by a tropical cyclone, coastal or land average wind force is 6 or more, or gust can reach 8 or more and may persist.

Guidelines

1. The government and relevant departments shall make preparations for typhoon prevention in accordance with their duties;

2. Stop outdoor group activities and high-altitude outdoor dangerous operations;

3. Water operations in relevant waters and passing ships take active countermeasures, such as returning to the port to avoid wind or sailing in a detour, etc.;
